Kvitebjørn Varme AS

Kvitebjorn Varme AS owns and operates the district heating network in Tromso. Since 1986 Kvitebjorn has produced hot water to supply district heating for buildings and streets in Tromso. Kvitebjorn delivers more than 115 GWh of thermal energy annually, with more than half generated using bio-fuels and the remainder from electricity. The hot water is distributed through a network of underground pipes from central heating plants to the end customers.  Kvitebjorn has invested EUR 50m in the expansion of the district heating network and in a new and modern 2X10MW energy recovery plant.
